When applying for overdrafts from banks (llyds tsb)

what are the maximum ranges they you can typically apply for?
(eg £8000?)

(regardless of whether you will be accepted or not)

and if you apply for a 'high' amount, but you got declines,
then do they offer you a lower amount, that you might be elegible for??

Not sure how it works but just select apply for an OD on online banking and if it goes straight through means they've set you a higher limit then you've asked for.

If you apply and they say call a number that means 1 of 2 things a CPD marker or the limit you've requested is higher then what lloyds have set you.

  • What is a CPD marker?

It means credit policy decline which you can have on an OD a credit card or loans or all 3 which means if you have this marker against any of these you won't be offered any of them in PRE-approved and when you apply it won't even go through as it's an instant NO.

CPD is normally given on all 3 if you have defaults and other nasties on your report, where as if you have high credit balances somewhere they would CPD you on loans & maybe credit cards Aswell.
