Google Maps for Entertainment
Google seems to have a sense of humour. If you ask it to give you directions from a UK address to somewhere in the US it will gladly do so.
I've tried it from a few places and it takes a rather bizarre route via Dover, Boulogne and le Havre from where it suggests swimming 3462 miles to Massachusetts and then gives road directions again. To Washington DC the estimated travelling time is 29 days 18 hours. Surely it would be quicker to swim from Lands End?
Apart from the US it will take you across Europe to Moscow for instance but not to Africa or China it seems. It would be interesting for people to see where it does cover and if there are other entertaining routes.
