Best Places to Look for a Job!

  • There's only a few sites worth looking at:

Indeed has every job vacancy on it, Charity Job, nhs jobs, local council and reed.

I found www.indeed.com to be great when I was job hunting too.
  • If it's something you haven't got much experience in then it's a great idea to volunteer with any of the rescue centres, zoos, conservation areas, PDSA/vets etc that might give you some experience. Don't loose sight of the transferable skills you'll already have from your past experience and employment. I'd imagine most of these type of roles would be advertised on the organisations websites, but sometimes i've seen national park type roles advertised through local authority websites too
  • I had lots of job alerts set up through indeed, monster, total jobs, guardian jobs and my local newspaper has a jobs section online. A lot of the larger companies have info on their websites so you can pop your details into their system and they'll alert you when there's a vacancy (Woodland trust, National Trust etc).

I actually found my current job as I follow the company on facebook (it's a small, local charity) and they put their job advert out via facebook. So, if there are any companies/ organisations you would particularly like to work with, follow them on facebook and twitter and get some interaction going.

Good luck with the search. I closed my business down this year after running it for 7 years, and I found a new job within 2 months. It can be done!
