hi there ive been looking through this forum as i'm in a pending mortgage application through mortgage force who are using brightstar, and then ge money. i am self employed and have some smaller defaults from a few years back (mobile phones) all have been satisfied and paid off in full, so think ge is my only option. i am also keeping my current house and have permision to let from them. its been about 8 weeks since application and three weeks since they asked for more info, i have contacted brightstar who told me my docs got to them 5 days after i gave them to my advisor, he is now not answering my calls and i have now contacted brightstar who are more than happy to deal with me direct and ive asked them to contact me not the advisor. the advisor sent them a photocopied form without my ni number and with my wifes wage slips photo copied which they declined to accept. i can see that you have had some dealings with them and brightstar is passing the buck to them and apparently they are not taking calls etc, is this the case ? and lastly thanks for listening and sorry to be a pain thanks

Brightstar arnt a company i have dealt, i go through a different company but they do the same job.
What you have said is correct, they wont deal with you directly - theyre not allowed to.

Sack your broker and engage a better one, based upon what you have said.
There is absolutely no excuse not to be able to get back to someone, at the very latest the same working day.
GE Money are flexible in what they will accept and quite selective in what processing requirements they have.
If Wife is primary income earner with no defaults, no sure the rates and product fee of GE Money will necessarily be the most suitable now.I am a Mortgage Broker

As the CEO of Brightstar Financial I am happy to take your call personally on 01277 725166. As you will be aware we spoke to you yesterday afternoon and let you know exactly what was going on with your application.
If Dave Ham was dealing currently with GE he would be more than aware that there is currently a 17 day backlog in applications and this doesn't matter who you are applying through. We are absolutely doing our best to redress this and to that mind we have a meeting today with GE to try and get our cases prioritised.

thanks for the reply's and 1 thing i'd like to clear up is that after finding out who my broker was using ie. brightstar i had contacted them and they addresed my concerns , have kept me updated and are still fighting my corner, i have no gripe with brightsar what so ever and found them realy helpfull, i am mearly trying to be active towards a resoloution and hope to get my mortgage paper's served asap as my solisitors are calling me constant to find out whats going on. the house is back on the market for sale and i need to know one way or another as its dragging on now, but as ive said its down to me, if i'd been sensible when younger id have no problems getting a mortgage now with the mainstream lenders

Did not realise it that was that long, not put an application in a for a couple of months though to be fair.
To be honest my frustration for the OP was aimed at the broker, it gives the industry a bad reputation when the original broker does not even return calls etc. - for which there is no excuse.
Fair play for coming on the forum and attempting to help the OP though..I am a Mortgage Broker

to be fair the broker at first was calling me back etc but the last few times i tried him there was no reply ,on wed/thurs last week i called and text him and he's still not contacted me? ive been chasing him the whole time, and even went to his house/office to hand paperwork to save the delay's on posting and to my mind if ge are realy busy he should have made shure that the forms were filled out and all info correct at the first time of sending they would have seen my case as easy and straight forward and had it passed, instead of asking me for more info?? i'm just trying to understand the system thats all. as ive been sitting for 6 weeks or more just wondering when i get to move. or not as the case may be0

I found GE to be a bit of a nightmare, asking for all sorts of things i wouldnt always collect in an initial meeting. 17 days has increased since i last used them (i think it was about a week back then).

mortgage force still havn't contacted me to tell me why they cant deal direct with ge as they are listed as a company that can0 -
