Collection only item - she wants it couriered?

I was selling two floor lamps - being 5ft each. Both 99p, only 1 sold - problem is she lives in Scotland, I am so far South, my huose overlooks the sea. Anyway, she emailed me 15mins prior to the end of auction to say can she arrange courier to collect it - I was out and didn't get message until I get home and see she has won and paid for the lamp. I have said I cannot pack it, and tbh I can't stay in a whole day to wait for her courier to arrive. She has sent a v.nasty email saying she doesn't want a refund but her lamp that she wants, if she didn't want it she wouldn't have bid etc. She is taking it further......

I ahve replied saying it was a collection only auction, and I would have said no to courier, even if she had allowed adequate time.

Worst case she can leave neg, which I don't want 100% since June 02, over 300items. Ebay wouldn't rule in her favour though??? Would they????

I am so annoyed that she can be so flaming rude to me.

As it stated collection only on your auction the buyer is out of order expecting you to courier it.

I would just refund her payment ASAP. You'll need to go through the unpaid item process to get your FVF back but I'm not quite sure how that will work in this situaton  Hopefully someone can advise.

If she leaves negative feedback follow it up with a factual reply.

I think she's got a nerve, but no matter how often you state collection only you'll always get someone wanting it delivered.

It would be most unfair if you had a negative.

Refund them, then send them a very apologetic email stating that 'you are so sorry but the item is completely unsuitable for delivery by courier. Tell them you understand that they are disappointed which was why you stated clearly in your listing that the item was for collection only. Finally say that you hope this brings the matter to mutual conclusion. I would then not respond to any further emails, if any become abusive forward them to ebay.

Got agree with what Flo says as well.

A five foot lamp at 99p, can you imagine the time and effort to get that ready for a courier....yikes!!

Even if you did agree to a courier you'd be hard pushed to find one who will collect a five foot item.

It's annoying that you could get a negative for it. The plus side is that you can neg her back. Just keep it 100% factual and you'll come out on top.

Plus, of course, she doesn't have the remotest vestige of a leg to stand on with eBay. Not a hope in hell of eBay siding with her.

Thought I'd update - I kindly explained the reasons as to why I can't courier the item, she more or less told me to f off - really nice lady who thinks I am a disgrace to Ebay for not honouring her bid!

When relisting the item I will put it very simply that collection in person by winner not courier is allowed!

    Thanks to everyone though!
