First Great Western pensioner discounts
First Great Western is doing a trial on two routes, starting this week, running for over 12 months, where those who currently have a free bus pass can receive the third price discount on rail travel which is usually reserved for those holding an annual Senior Railcard (current price £28 p.a.). The two pilots are Worcester to Swindon via Stroud (and all points between) and Westbury to Weymouth.
The pilots are going to run until November 2013 after which an assessment will be made about extending the scheme.
As they say, use it or lose it!
