Zafira car tyres?

Options
Hi i think i have to have 2 new tyres (going down tommorow) poss 3 and wondered what everyone else would go for?

Normally i just go to the garage and get whatever! but seeing as i may need 3 i may get 4 new ones and have done with it.

just been on kwik fit for a quick look and its a minefield! no idea what sort to get and what the difference would mean for me? does it matter a lot?

I do local driving and an occasional long trip.

the car is a Zafira 1.9 cdti SRI

Thanks

I wouldn't use Kwik Fit personally, but looking at the site I'd go for the cheapest named brand e.g. Goodyear Efficient Grip £75.30 each.

You can haggle with them you know - say you only need 3 but can they do all 4 for £250.

Just make sure they don't give the old "you need new brake pads and discs" trick.

Prices at Kwik Fit are always negotiable.

Get a quote for a common mid-range tyre from an online site such as blackcircles.com and use it to haggle.

I've gone for Continental Premium Contact 2's on our Zaffy. Very good all rounders. Decent grip on dry/wet/snow, not too noisy, good efficiency and have lasted very well. Fronts went on around 10-15k miles ago and still in good nick. About £60-70 a corner depending on where you go. So not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Think your later Zaffy has slightly different sizes though, so may vary a bit.

I often buy through BlackCircles, who deliver to a local garage for fitting. Usually have some discount codes about, so have a hunt around.
