We-Buy-Car.com - Are they a scam?
Hi,
We are selling a 2010 Vauxhall Corsa (long story short, need a bigger car!) and one of the sites we put it on was Auto Trader.
We-buy-car.com sent us a text saying that they can give us £6,300 for it (£200 off our advertised price). They also said 'we can pick it up tomorrow'.
I'm skeptical because the website is very basic and not very professional (I have experience in making websites). The other half tried to call the number earlier (0207), they put you in a queue and cut you off after a while.
Is my skepticism correct or has anybody else managed to sell a car to them with no problems?

Yes. How old is that RAC logo?
"Do you charge ANY fees for this service?
Depending on your location, we may ask you to pay a small returnable fee to ensure your presence when we come to buy your car. This fee is returned without question when we greet you or if you cancel."
It'll be some kind advanced fraud fee scam.0 -
I thought so, thanks for your replies :j0

I have my car on autotrader also and recent about 4/5 texts from companies offering to buy my car for £100 less than advertised.
I delete them as IF they wanted to buy my car for £100 less than advertised, all they need do to is telephone me and collect my after handing over the cash.
Obviously they never intend to give me any amount of cash otherwise they would do.
They rely on people who will believe anything/everything they read !!!
Best avoid."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
And the chances of them being entitled to use the Investors in People logo are?0

Well IIP have confirmed they are not entitled to use the "investors" logo and the website has been taken down. Good news I think but another may spring up soon.0

Nice one!
If we get sent any more similar ones, I will try to post them on here to increase awareness and to get them taken down?
