How long to wait for a reply about payment?

Hi all,

I recently sold a shirt on eBay and the buyer has yet to pay despite winning the auction a week ago.

The last time this happened I messaged the buyer who told me there was a problem with her bank and despite waiting for it, I eventually got my money. However, I'm not sure how long to wait for a reply to my message this time.

I've only sent the message today so how long should I wait until I open a case?

Thanks,
MultiCat

I wouldn't wait much longer tbh. If there's no contact, I usually open an NPB as soon as I can.

  • You can open a NPB dispute after 4 days, I would do it straight away

Thanks guys. I got a reply the next day (today), the buyer had forgotten to pay and would send the payment as soon as her bank account had been sorted out. I've not had payment yet so I'll give it a few more days to be certain before opening a NPB.

Personally, I would open it now, and make sure her mind is concentrated by a dispute being open against her and hanging over her head.

You don't have to close it as soon as you can, I've had one open for several weeks waiting for a specific date (on which I got paid).

There's no need now, she paid an hour after my last post.
