Replacement UPVC Locks and catches?

how easy is it to replace locks on UPVC front doors, and the metalwork catchs in the door frame?
The front door lock in my new home is quite still to get the key in. It turns fine once its in - but its hard to get the key in. Options are replace the lock mechanism, replace the handles complete with lock (the outer handle looks very weatherworn too), or try WD40 in the lock to free it up. it would seem the previous occupants used the side/kitchen door as the main entrance rather than the front door.
scondly, the metal part of the door catch in the kitchen door is broken. Its the part that the latch catches on to stay closed. Its all there, but the is a break and its keeps dropping meaning you have to pull the handle up to keep it shut. Can I just replace that signle part? or is metal/super glue the order of the day?

Have a look on ebay.
Just search for "upvc door locks" and you will find listings which explain how to change the lock and measure the size for the replacement.
for example:

Check to see if you key is slightly bent, scrape a pencil on the key to get some graphite (the lead in pencils) then work your key in and out of the lock. The graphite will drop off inside your lock to lubricate it. Maplins also sell Graphite Lock Lubricate for £3 a tin, squirt it into your lock then work then key in and out as before.
You can get replacement parts for your door catch, search for a firm called "Lockfinder" in Derby, I use them all the time."Nil Sine Labore" - Nothing Without Labour0
