Recommendations for bathroom fitting Warrington, Cheshire

I have had a look through the forums and cant find anything recent on this subject (I may not have looked properly :-)).

We are having B&Q come round tomorrow to design our bathroom as home and was wondering if anyone has used them in the past or has any information which would make me use/or not B&Q.

Still going to have them come round but if there are lots of horror stories it may make me think twice and use someone else.

thanks

  • There expensive on the whole.

The hardware may be a little cheaper - but generally its not great quality. Their fitting charges are very high.

Go with an independant supplier and local tradesman and it will cost you more for the hardware, less for the fitting - so you end up paying the same BUT for a better quality finished product.

the only issue, may be finding a local tradesman your happy with. At least with B&Q (or any of the sheds) if something goes wrong youd like to think they would sort it.

You will wait 12 weeks for delivery and then much of it willbe wrong. Also they will over measure on tiles so you end up paying out a lot of money up front.

And sorry Paul, but their hardware isn't cheaper. It's very expensive.

  • So far so (not) good :-).

Thanks for the replies, I may have to reconsider using B&Q and use a local tradesman who can hopefully do everything (fit bathroom, tiles, fittings etc etc.

If you identify where you are located, some body maybe able to recommend tradesmen.

Hopefully someone can give me a push in the right direction.

Maybe it would be better to start a new thread. Ill see if this gets any replies:-)

Try atlas on penketh road, or boundary bathrooms near the old mfi.

Out of all the sheds wickes are ok, b q. Are dreadfull .but as said independent fitters are the way to go. PM me if you want a good fitter but be prepared to wait as They are very busy.
  • Based on what I have heard, it would be better for me to go for an independent fitter to sort out my bathroom. I will still have B&Q come round to see what they say/quote, and get some more quotes from others.

Thanks for replies, and i have PMd you thanks Premkit.
