Hi guys, I am looking to spend £3000 in the next month and am looking for a card that gives me a reward/cash back. I have the money to clear the balance straightaway and it can't be Amex.
Any ideas???
Thanks:j

Depends on your credit rating. And on what you value - flights, points, cash, Tesco value meals, etc.0

For simple cashback - If it can't be Amex then the Capital One Mastercard is probably the best bet. Gives you 5% on the first £2000 spend in the first 3 months and then 0.5% after that so it would get you £105 for your £3000.
The Aqua Reward card (3% on everything max £100 per year) wouldn't work as you wouldn't get a big enough limit to cover £3000 in one go.0 -
Bear in mind it can take up to a month before you actually get the card. If you're purchase is time constricted, you'll want to act soon.
Also, you may want to look at one of the 0% purchase cards which Martin recommends. Put the £3k in a high interest savings account, and then make the min payment every month until the interest free periods ends (stoozing).0 -
I have a similar purchase due next month (rail season ticket), and was looking at getting the Captial One card just for the cashback. However, I notice the limit on cashback is £100 in the first month. The cashback I would earn at 5% is £166, so effectively this limit drops the cashback rate down to 3%. Other than the cards which charge a huge annual fee, is there anyway I can get the full 5% on the whole purchase? I already have an American Express card so can't split the payment between that and the Captial One.
