BT Return Envelope postage paid

I am wondering if anyone knows how to use the postage paid bag that BT sent my son.
I am returning the BT Vision box and the Hub. Obviously the bag isn't safe to protect such equipment, so I am using the original box and taping the bag to the box.
There is a label on the left hand side which says lift here to return, this removes a bar code with a number on it.
What am I supposed to do with that, do I
a) keep it
b) put it on the bag
c) put it inside the package.
Do I also leave the rest of the label which includes the address of the account holder or remove the whole label.
I can't get an answer from BT yet.
Thanks
Done another google search
Sending kit back is easy and free of charge:
Sorry, but we can only deal with BT equipment. You can usually take other old equipment to your local recycling centre.
I was told I would get a refund from Delhi Call Centre, but it looks like I won't:p

Sending kit back is easy and free of charge:
- Call 0800 800 150 and tell us what you want to return. We'll then send you a pre-paid posting bag
- Pack everything, including any cables, into the original box (if you don't have it, please use another box or bubble wrap as protection)
- Pop it in the posting bag and seal it
- Peel off the barcode from the address label and stick it next to the postage label on the posting bag
- Take it to your local Post Office. We recommend you ask for proof of posting - there's no charge for this

The barcode (most probably) is used for tracking the package, and once scanned at the PO will transfer this reference to your posting slip, as a receipt to prove it was shipped.0
