So the main 'hikes' have been to the 118 numbers?

Does anyone still use these services when you can just google for the number now?

I haven't since they stopped using 192 as the main number!

My aged mother got caught by one of these 118 type numbers recently - she had a call on her BT bill of over £9 - just to phone someone in the next village!! I think its absolutely criminal!! Spot on that the PC literate can get the numbers for nothing...but the older generation get ripped off!!
  • Orange's voice call price guide of March 2012 showed 0800 calls as "inclusive" at all times of day/night across all packages. There was no call connection charge on inclusive calls. Their guide to price changes effective 18/09/2012 did not indicate that there would be any change in this respect but their new price guide effective 18/09/2012 shows the price per minute for 0800 numbers as "Free" and a call connection charge of 12.5p. Sneaky or what?

I would imagine that its a printing error given that all freephone calls are inclusive ,and inclusive calls dont incur a connection charge, plus no mention of it in changes.
  • I phoned Orange to query it and was told that the connection fee does apply to 0800 numbers. They are no longer shown as "inclusive" as in the past but have a "Free" price per minute.

As a new user, I am apparently not permitted to post links but try replacing the # symbols in the following with dots:

then paste it into your browser address bar and go to page 3

SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • I seriously recommend checking your current plan rate against the increase both before VAT and AFTER VAT is added. I did and found the 3% was being added after VAT was added something which I challenged Orange on. I was immediately offered an escalation of my case with a view to being offered a loyalty discount! Challenge if you find the same as the hike on VAT is not transparent and is against the spirit of the letter stating ONLY the line rental is affected. All discounts and VAT must be applied AFTER the hike.
