Halifax second account

Hi,
When I log in to my online banking for Halifax, it states that I can open a second current account to help 'manage my money'. When clicking through, it's quite a simple form - does any one here know from experience if by doing this I will have a full credit search done and logged on my report, or has it pre-authorised the account.
Thanks for your help!

It will check your credit file in case there is something on there that may affect their offer. If your credit rating is not the best then it could get declined or if you are thinking of applying for credit elsewhere and this is more essential then I would apply there first.0

I'm getting this message as well. A second account would be useful but I don't want to get a decline! Oddly they were able to give me a massive overdraft limit (raising it from £100 to £5000) without running a credit check on me0

It would still show on your credit file however and therefore could reduce your ability to obtain more credit elsewhere as you already have access to £5000.0 -

That's not the point. What I'm saying is it seems odd they're willing to offer me a £5000 overdraft limit without doing a credit check and yet they'd need to apparently do a full credit check to open a second current account for an existing customer.0
