Eyelash tinting??

Used to have it done in the Body Shop (some have/had salon type things within them - not sure if they still do).
My lashes are very blonde so use mascara all the time. Did still need mascara after having them dyed, but was much better as mascara's a nightmare for me as I have to get really close and always manage to poke myself the eye - and you can't get to the bits at the 'roots' on the top of your lashes as you put mascara on from the underneath.
As above, if yours are dark, I wouldn't bother as it doesn't really add anything...
It did used to sting me a bit, but only cos I'm rubbish at having anything near my eyes and squint all the time - they used to tell me off for flinching. Friend of mine still gets it done and it doesn't sting her.

I have very fair lashes and brows and have them tinted in the salon every 6 weeks or so. I usually do them the same day as I have my hair trimmed and the results last as long as my haircut does. I then only wear mascara if going for a very glam night out. That being said, my normal make up regime ranges from wearing nothing at all, to very natural (ie BB cream or tinted moisturiser, and a natural lippie, with maybe a hint of bronzer if feeling decadent
) so if you usually have a more made up look, a tint may not be enough.

yeah, I know what you mean, mine are dark, but not black but the tips must be fair as you can see the full length with mascara. Just that the tinting even of the tips didn't seem to make any difference to me! Sorry didn't explain myself very well...............and thinking on, wonder why the beautician even bothered suggesting it as my choice of freebie!0 -
Good thread - I've been pondering a tint for a while. I've got long lashes, but piggy little eyes, so unless I've got absolutely waterproof mascara, I end up like a panda, as each blink wipes it off!Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Thanks everyone!
Hmmm...i have pretty dark lashes already.. i guess i am maybe after more length or volume then maybe..... extensions?? Can they look natural or do they just look WAAAY too much for every day wear? And how long do they last? And how do they work if you use wipes etc to take off make up - ie, doesnt it make them fall off/out really quickly??
:cool:Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -

You have to be very careful with them. Nothing but water to clean them, no mascara etc. if you don't pay much you can expect your real lashes to fall out and end up with very sparse and fragile lashes.
Much better to just learn to be happy with what you've got.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

Tinting is a fab treatment - even for those with dark lashes as it catches all the lighter ends - but it is important to remember that, as with every other treatment we can have, it has its limitations; it cannot make lashes appear out of thin air.
Personally, I love my tinting. In fact, I overtint mine to make it look like I'm wearing liner as well. However, if your lashes are as straight as mine are, you will still definitely need mascara - unless you also opt for a lift/perm, which I now would not do without. This completely negates the need for mascara (unless you have very, very sparse lashes to start with) and is perfect for holidays.0
