Eyelash tinting??

Anyone have this done? I know its hardly radical but i want to have it done, yet am scared lol!!

So.... Does it work well? By which i mean, do you still need to apply mascara or is it good enough that u dont need to? Would it be a case of only needing to add mascara if u were going on a night out for example lol and wanted more va va voom?!

And.... it wont make my lashes go brittle, fall out or anything else vile like that will it?!!!?!?!
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

I've never had it done in a salon, but I use this stuff now and again.

I like it, but I still need to put a bit of mascara on if I want my eyelashes to curl etc.
  • Doesn't work on my lashes. Eyebrows, brilliant, but lashes? No chance.

  • It's easy peasy.

As you're nervous, get it done at a salon - after all, you don't really want to have shaking hands when applying it yourself. It's bad enough when you poke yourself in the eye with bog standard mascara.

It's very good if you have pale lashes and then you'll only need mascara for length instead. So going out, basically.

It's not great for me because my lashes are dark and quite long anyway. But if they get paler as I get older, I'll do it.

I did my brows and eyelashes earlier today. I use colorsport Diva 30 day mascara super black kit from boots and the packet has lasted me at least a year so far. I find the results are perfect for the brows which you only leave it on for 2 minutes, but on the eyelashes I carefully put it on like mascara and leave it on for about 30 min - even though they only advise 10. I like the result on the lashes but it is a more eye popping result when its done at the beauty shop, but that costs about £7+ a time.

Also....no it wont make them brittle. You can wear mascara if you want or you could just wear clear mascara.

I tend to get mine done before I go on holiday as i have quite long eyelashes, and once put mascara on, unless I wait for it to dry its all over my glasses.

I have mine done at the local college - def recommend it. it colours your lashes, so looks like your wearing mascara, I've had no problems, but sometimes if I want an impact I still use an eyelash curler.

if you do a home kit, or go to salon, college etc always, have a skin test done 1st to make sure you not allergic to the ingredients, x

I do lashes and eyebrows at home. Depends how long or pale your lashes are naturally if you do without mascara.

Another vote for Eyelure Dylash here :) I get it from amazon, as it's a bit cheaper than buying it on the high street.

ETA: If you look on YouTube there's a video on there showing how to tint eyelashes at home
  • I've had it done at a salon before, definitely made a difference as my eyelashes are quite long, but only dark at the roots, the tips are very fair.

Too scared to try at home, but then I also go to a salon to get my hair dyed and I know plenty of people quite happily do that at home too.

My lashes are dark and I had them tinted black for the first time as a freebie offer at the Elemis/Bliss spa in Debenhams before my hols, when I went for a brow wax and tint.

She left the tint on for a good while (maybe 20 mins), can't say I could see any difference whatsoever when it was done, although she kept Wow-ing and saying how much it made my eyes 'pop' lol.

Waste of time for me, certainly no substitute for mascara. Glad I hadn't paid for it!

Agree it's no substitute for mascara - I would think total waste on dark eye lashes, all it can do is make darker what is there, not make longer or thicker like mascara.
