If it was a pre-printed paying-in slip, the money will be processed as a Bank Giro Credit through the clearing and appear in his account in two to three working days. Your friend will receive the money. Why Barclays didn't direct you to Lloyds I have no idea, but they've processed it now so nothing can be done.
But your friend will definitely get the money, just not instantly.urs sinserly,

And Barclays may have deducted a charge from what they have sent. Only may, coz they would normally ask for it at the time0

Id be surprised if they made any charge, i have paid money into my Lloyds account through barclays when i didnt have time to drive into town (Barclays just down road from work
) and i have never been charged for the pleasure. As said above it does take 2-3 days to clear through the giro credit whereas paying it direct to Lloyds it is an immediate cash credit 0
