Hello,
I've been interested to know if anyone (asides from me) holds a life insurance policy for me that I don't know about.
Is there a centralised body that I can check with on this?
Thanks

To take out a life assurance policy on you they would require an insurable interest. In most cases you would need to complete a medical disclosure and provide GP details and sign that disclosure. So, unless you have done that then dont expect to be on there.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. My grandma took out penny policies on her sons when they were young which paid out on their deaths - would this be different from life insurance? You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0

didnt these pay out when the named person reached something like 15-16??? my mum had one of these on all of us kids. i got mine as my 16th birthday present. £26!!!! in 1963 that was a fortune to me. and at that time, it was more than my dad earned in a week!!!!!0

sandraoffey, yours sounds different, these were definitely on death and she paid in more than came out - dad stepped in and got them declared "paid up" when he realised what she was paying, but still had to wait for the sons' deaths for payout - about £80 each for guys after 50+ years of paying in (!)
Your dad's salary reminds me of when a schoolfriend told me her dad earnt £4000 - my mum said it was a lie because no-one could earn that much! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

But that is what the OP is asking, if they can find out if anyone else holds a policy against their life.
To the best of my knowledge no, though as has been said, for anything other than the lowest policies medicals or GP records etc would be required and that needs your express permission.0
