My local one took over half an hour for a quick wash. What a job they did though.
Not been back since. And may not in my lifetime LOL

Van gets a Professional valet inside & out every 2 months (business pays for that), if it gets too dirty ill pressure wash if it needs it

My estate car gets washed probably every 2-3 weeks depending on how busy Friday afternoon is

Land rover has a permanent protective covering of mud :)

I have a relative who is a painter and decorator. He power washes his van every night and does a foam wash every weekend.

Of course in his trade his van is a means of advertising his business. No one hires a painter and decorator with a clatty van.

We used to use an Eastern European hand car wash in a multi-storey car park in town. Used them several times with no problems.

Last time we took our 10-plate Mondeo in, we drove out afterwards and as soon as we got into daylight realised they had scratched the windscreen. Fine scratch right down the middle of it.

When we got home, we realised they had scratched all the windows!!

Paid the £75 to our insurers for a new windscreen but haven't bothered replacing the other windows - too expensive and the scratches are quite fine.

Just very grateful that they somehow scratched all the windows but not any of the paintwork.

Anyone got any idea how they managed it? Did they wash the windows with diamonds?

Used to use an automatic car wash till the father in law put me off them with dire warnings about damage to the car. Might go back to them now.
  • I've owned my current car for over 3 years and it has been washed 3 times. It's grey so it doesn't show the dirt anyway.

    :)
