Hey, I've recently had to leave my job to return to college to study my 2nd year diploma and I was planning on getting a student current account with Lloyds TSB but cant because I'm not at University, and therefore don't have any UCAS details.

Is there an alternative bank account for students not at University? Or is it just a case of getting an overdraft with my bank I'm currently with (Halifax)

Also, is there a site I can view or a user on this site that can list the grants I'm eligible for?

I have a Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry.

Don't get too excited though some of them will only pay out if you wear a red jumper, and are called Fred on a Wednesday in June....

just taken me an age (an hour and 20 minutes or so) - but have filled in the form, and i didn't even hit my PC once....

you never know I may get lucky.
