Lol I always thought I was odd for doing it that way but I've got an awful habit of drinking a cup while I do my face so it makes sense lol

    - Body shop face base (I now use the darkest colour of 6 which is absolutely fine on my pale skin. Blends in very well. Used to use 5, but comes out very pale) (http://reviews.thebodyshop.co.uk/6097/15C51161-A7FE-4C2D-ACD2-78DE6E9582AA/reviews.htm?page=5)
    - Mascara
    - Blusher
    - Lip balm or lipgloss

Done :D (unless I'm going for the full works, then it takes much longer. The above is fine for day to day).

  • Get out of shower
    Moisturize
    Dry hair
    Primer
    Straighten hair
    Foundation
    Eyeliner
    Mascara
    Blusher.

Sorted. If I took out drying my hair I can be done in 10. Unfortunately my hair takes forever.

What is your quick make up routine for mornings? I never have time for anything lengthy and complicated but still like to wear make up and couldn't go to work without it, what do you suggest?

Have you tried a blemish balm? They are multi tasking products that include sunscreen moisturiser and foundation.
Or a light tinted moisturiser may work, depends on your skin type and prticular problems.

I usually wash my hair at night, cleanse tone moisturise and use serum and a BHA, eye cream etc.I blow dry my hair then put it in a top knot and comb it forward.

Once I'm up in the morning it's a quick cleanse (no toning) then apply moisturiser with spf30. I let that sink in while I have a quick shower without wetting my hair. Do all the usual brushing teeth etc, then put on 2 different primers, foundation, concealer, highlighter eyeshadow on lids crease and a base lipstick lipliner contour bronzer blush eyeliner false lashes then powder. And that takes me about 20 minutes. I can then let my hair down and it will have volume and waves from being in the top knot. Then out the door.

The best routine for you will depend on your ethnicity, age, skin type etc. You could probably use a BB cream, then use YSL touche eclat under the eyes, and anywhere where there is shadows to brighten the skin. Do a quick slick of eyeshadow in a neutral colour, then some kohl liner in a thin line just to define the eyes. Curl the lashes then apply some natural looking false lashes - falsies don't have to be false looking. A lot can appear very natural, yet a bit thicker than your own lashes and a lot quicker to apply. It takes me a few seconds to apply mine. Then curl your lashes and the falsies together to blend,

followed with a quick bit of blush, shimmer at the top of cheekbones and a slick of lipgloss that would probably be around 5 mins?

For me the biggest time saver is what I do at night with my skin. I carefully cleanse, tone, I use facial masks and peels refularly, I exfoliate with the BHA then use serum and night cream. Although this sounds like a lot, when I get up in the morning my skin will be clear and glowing (that sounds so big headed doesn't it!) So it saves me time as I need a lot less make up. If I have had a rough few days, have been partying, not sleeping well, and do not cleanse tone and moisturise, then I'll wake up with dry skin that's dull, dark shadows under the eyes, spots/acne, uneven skin....generaly just horrific skin. Apart from looking in the mirror and scaring myself (and others) this is a problem as it takes SO long to fix my face....have to use skin brightening lotions, more moisturiser, more foundation, mix two foundations to suit the skin, use lots of concealers, careful use of highlighters. go easy with the powder, etc. So the prep can be important in saving time in the morning. Overall to save time you could probably:

Get your eyelashes tinted, or get semi permanent extensions, or use strip lashes each morning but practice lots so it's quick.

Do your cleansing etc at night so a quick splash of water in the morning is all you need.

Use a BB cream suited to your skin concern.

Use a three in one product for lips and cheeks like a stain, keep eyes neutral.

    Hope this helps x

    brush teeth,
slick of lipcolour in hall mirror as leaving house

Most mornings - spend so long trying to find odd shoe that I shove whatever I cna find in a small makeup purse then work out how the heck I'm going to make myslef look decent at my desk with no mirror, 3 eyeliners and a tube of hilighter!

Your skin (when you are not looking after it) sounds like mine!

Do you mind me asking what a blemish balm is? And what is a BHA exfoliator? What cleansers and moisturisers do you generally use?

Sorry for all the questions and the hi jack it just sounds like you have your skin under control :D
  • I have to leave any make up until I'm at work as I'm getting so hot at the moment that it's not worth putting any on at home :o
By the time I've washed, cooled down and changed my top I'm then ready for make-up.

Daily: eyeliner, eyeshadow and a swirl of powder, spot of lip balm.
I mess with my face all the time while I'm thinking anyhow, so not worth putting more on :rotfl:

Evenings out I go for the works. :D

    Here's my routine:

    - Put deodorant and body spray on
    - Bung clothes and accessories on
    - Wipe face cleanser over face
    - Apply BB cream, concealer (if needed) and finish with face powder
    - Apply eyeliner and mascara
    - Straighten hair
    - Brush teeth
    - Dab on some lippie
    - Grab lunch and go!

I am awful at mornings- I give myself 40 minutes to do all that but I could do it faster if I wasn't so sluggish! I shower in the evenings as it takes an age for my hair to dry, and I use a deep cleansing, exfoliating face wash and moisturise before bed so that saves a bit more time in the morning.
