Quick make up routine for mornings

Options
What is your quick make up routine for mornings? I never have time for anything lengthy and complicated but still like to wear make up and couldn't go to work without it, what do you suggest?

  • Wash.

    Slap on deo

Smear on EL Illuminator thingie for dark spots.

    Spritz body spray

    Clinique moisturizer

    Brush teeth

    Stick in earrings

Apply blush, eye pencil. Dust on eyeshadow, apply mascara.

    Toss uniform on.

    Put on lipgloss.

    Fix hair.

    Pantyhose, shoes.

    Out door.

Usually less than 20 minutes from filling up sink to locking front door.
  • Lol! Wondercollie - you do have an odd routine! And I don't mean that in a horrible way! I've never understood why people brush their teeth practically last - brushing my teeth is the first thing I do after breakfast and before I go in the shower. Maybe it's just me but when I brush my teeth, the toothpaste is EVERYWHERE - running down my hands and dripping off my chin! :rotfl:I get so annoyed at toothpaste ads on the telly that show people merrily smiling mid-brush looking all lovely and clean - that's not my experience at all!

But anyway, sixtiesgal, I wear the lot everyday from eyelash nourisher to blush and it takes me 15 minutes. Plus the earlier 15 minutes for teethbrush and shower including hairwash and condition. If I didn't stop to read a couple of chapters of my current book, I'd be out the door in 45 minutes inc breakfast.

How much time are you talking about?

    Powder

    Eyeshadow

The whole lot takes me 3 minutes.

Powder, mascara, tinted lip balm, cream blush if you are very pale, dye your lashes if you are pale: save the works for formal occasions and nights out. Look after your skin and your diet and most people don't need a lot of make up.

Wash face, cleanse face. Moisturise, foundation, concealer, powder, blusher, eyeshadow, mascara. That takes me 5 mins for make up and prob about 2 mins for the washing and cleansing.
  • Thanks for your replies. Just wondering if you use any shortcuts in a morning, ie tinted moisturiser instead of foundation and moisturiser.

Firefox - which powder do you use? I always used to use just a pressed powder instead of foundation but now I am 50 I worry about it emphasising any wrinkes or dry patches.
  • I use tinted moisturizer in the winter when I remember. Most of the time I figure the hospital is lucky to get me there at the ungodly hour of 05:30.

I use a dewy korean bb, goes on really quickly and i don't get tide marks if i do a bad job rubbing it in whilst running for some mode of public transport :o Dust on some shimmer brick for colour, coat of mascara and lip balm.
I would never bother with eye shadow or lipstick on a rushed morning but that's just me. I often do my make up after leaving the house so I don't want to carry too much in my handbag.

I reckon tinted moisturiser/bb and/or shimmer brick/skin finish and dyed lashes is the ultimate quick morning routine :D

    Cleanse
    Tone
    Moisturise

    Takes a couple of minutes

    Asian BB cream
Dash of Posie tint on the cheeks
Sometimes a very quick swipe of the benefit big beautiful eyes kit (literally one sweep of each bit, looks very natural and takes seconds)
Coat of mascara-4 'sweeps' to the outer lashes,3 to the mid lashes and 2 to the inner lashes (an old tip I picked up years ago!)
    Clean teeth
Dab a little Posie Tint on lips and I'm done

Make up takes 5 minutes max
