Hi,
Earlier this week I applied online for an Egg Money card to start my stoozing.
However today I recieved a letter from Egg regarding my applictaion from there Financial Crime Unit saying "we have recieved information which suggests that your name and address have been used by another person to impersonate you".
"If you confirm you made the application it will belayed while we confirm your identity"
Well I did make an application and I wasnt expecting a letter like this.
Anyone else have the same thing?
Recently over the last 2 weeks, I also applied for a HSBC credit card and a Halifax current account, maybe Ive been overdoing it?
Its says call them, but lines arent open till Monday.
Thanks

Phone them on Monday.
A fraudster might well try opening a number of accounts in quick succession so that is the likely reason.0 -
Probably a CIFAS referal.
I would certainly phone them because if you don't it will look even worse for you even though you are totally innocent.0 -
Check your credit file from the 3 Credit Reference agencies immediately - total cost £6.
