get house insurance with only a basic bank account?

Hi
I have been trying to take out home insurance on-line, but on every site I have seen I need a more advanced debit card. I only have a very basic cash card - it's not chip and pin, or visa, or any of that. It allows me to take out money at a cash point, but not to pay out on-line of over the phone.
I don't particularly want to change my card, but i really need to sort out house insurance. Any ideas?
Danielle

See if you can get a friend to pay for your purchase and give them the cash. Watch out for their card details being retained for auto renewal though..
Otherwise buy over the counter at a bank or broker (not swinton)0 -

Most places will want a card up front even if subsequent payments are by DD.
Most obvious options are (a) get a friend to pay but be aware they will be automatically charged next year if you dont advise the insurer that you dont want to renew (b) find a local broker and buy via them (c) find an insurer by telephone that accepts payments by cheque, there certainly used to be a few but the numbers were shrinking0
