Builders Help in Converting En-Suite

Hi everyone.
I have recently purchased a new-build home. On the second floor there is a living room, a bathroom and a master bedroom. The master bedroom comes with an en-suite- so in effect there are 2 bathrooms on the second floor. I wouldn't normally mind this, but because of the en-site in the main bedroom there is only a space for a bed and a small wardrobe in the room. Therefore, we are thinking of converting the en-site into a walk-in wardrobe/storage space. Is it a good idea?
Also, as money is a bit tight at the moment, do people know of any arrangements whereby a builder could come in and do the work for me and take the brand new toilet, wash-basin, and walk-in shower as payment? Or is that wishful thinking? If it is, what's the most economical way to do things? All that needs doing is for the en-suite to be taken out and for the walls to be plastered and shelves, rails and mirrors installed.
Me & huby are both useless at DIY so all suggestions welcome. We live in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
Thanks!

The problem is a) it is not a brand new shower, loo and basin. They are secondhand as they have been installed in your en-suite and b) they have a resale value of probably £50 if your lucky. Most builders will just skip them.
It's wishful thinking.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Thanks for that! Any economical ways of going about it then?0

How many bedrooms in the house? How will it affect the resale value if you take out the en-suite?
If you're planning to live there for years, that may not matter. If it's just a stepping stone up the housing ladder, you may be making the house more difficult to resell.0 -
Hang onto the bathroom suite yourself and eBay it? Even if you only get a few £, it all helps. Do the walls NEED to be plastered, or could they stay as they are until you have saved up a little more? Could you just put your existing wardrobe in the ensuite at first, with some of the wheelie hanging rails from Argos or similar?0

Thanks for that. Turns out my mum & dad are going to get a downstairs bathroom done in their house in the next few months so they can have the suite, they'll just have to pay for it to be taken out & reinstalled at theirs. I'll then see what I'm left with and what I can do with it.0
