It's the only organisation I've seen do it that way; all others I've used lump it together as you say... and I've been with a fair few other banks/building societies in my time.43580 -

10% of withdrawals at my branch counter were for between these amounts on card accounts.
The suggestion was rejected. Can't remember why.
But they've hardly been quick off the mark since!
My assumption is that there will be a corresponding reduction in cashier numbers as a result.
My guess would be a fraud based reason. As higher ATM limits means higher exposure to ATM fraud.
Some banks already have £500 or £1000 limits
Many people that have these cards request the limit to be lowered. As they will never take that much out.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Surely safer to use faster payments or cards?
In my case I was buying a car. Card payment not accepted.0 -
Some people just prefer to transact in cash - makes spending more real.
Also with interest rates so low there is much less incentive to keep funds in a current or savings account.
Large transactions like a car purchase are best done with large denominations such as £100s rather than a bundle of £20s though! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

True they could have but in the end it was the seller of the car who requested method of payment not the person who paid for it in cash.0 -
