I'm looking to design a reasonable website to run with a business, it will involve quite a few pictures as well as text and hopefully a payment facility in the future, I would like people to be able to book times and dates of possible.
My website experience is pretty limited, I'm trying to decide whether to go for lycos webhosting either the all in one or webmaster, or to go to 1&1 Business pro, not too sure about 1 &1 as I had difficulties in trying to cancel an account with them a few years back, I cancelled it in writing several times and they kept charging me. However this is a different site name and business and I would like to run the best one I can.
Any help would be great!

Lycos are large & reliable from what I hear. They are big in europe, denmark especially. I have a few ( all my ) domains from them but as my sites are very small & don't get much traffic I went to https://www.3ix.com for hosting. Dont know what they are like cutomer support etc - had to mail them once and got a reply within 4hrs. All the set up, payment was automatic and has been fine. The sites are up whenever I check. There is a uk tab on the homepage and to host a site is 59p a monthNudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

I recommend http://www.internet-central.net/
A huge (but little-known) company that specialises in business site hosting.
They have huge offices on Keele University campus.
To test them, phone their tech support line between 9am and 5pm weekdays.

I bet they answer within 3 rings.
Avoid 1&1 like the plague. They've given me nothing but grief. Wish I'd never heard of them. They even put a debt collection agency on me because I hadn't paid an invoice (which I hadn't received). Bunch of t*ssers.0 -
