Sorry, Pantherchick.
You are quite right to ask for advice, and I'm sorry I came across like I was judging you or something. It's just that the amount you're talking about seems so little compared with your expenditure.
I love to visit the USA as well and would guess each trip is at least £5k. Because of that price I wouldn't really be thinking of asking folk about an interest level on £450. I hope you understand.
Sorry I can't help suggest a better rate somewhere.
yep the amount is small, very small compaired with alot of other peoples debts, but its still my debt and im trying to reduce it... hence being on this site asking nice people for advice. i dont drink and i dont smoke, i dont drive! so my enjoyment is my holiday, which i work alot of hours to pay for, No a holiday does not cost anything like you sujest, if you check out hotels and price midweek flights, the costs can be bought down, even eating is cheap and cheerfull. being able to do things that dont cost alot or next to nothing in Newyork, makes my holiday, like seeing Alicia keys free singing in central park, travelling on the sub way, instead of yellow cabs, all can be more enjoyable and cheap, so to my credit card... 450 is nothing but to me its still alot.... x.0 -
you have a simple choice
pay off the modest debts and enjoy the extra money you will have as you will no longer be paying any interest
or continue wasting your hard earned money by paying interest year on year on year.0 -
your posts are making no sense now.
if you can pay off 450 per month then you will be debt free in 2 months
i see you have spent more or less the whole day on this website looking at the time of ALL your posts. so after a full afternoon nursing at the local hospital i have come home to chill and be
after all the non exciting things i have seen today
to be persued by a critic. thanks.... enjoy tomorrow when i guess you will be sitting in front of the screen again ( all day) no doubt.
My debt is 450 pounds, i pay off more than the monthly amount each month. i hope that doesnt affend you too. xx:beer::beer:.0 -
Once again, sorry - I was the person who said USA holidays could be expensive. Not my fault; it's my wife's . . .0

indeed nearly so; suffering from a hangover today
it's just that I can't see why you work so hard all day to waste some of it paying interest;
but I make by choice and you make yours
best of luck0 -

There's no reason for your CC company to reduce the amount they charge you - you are paying at least minimum payments and making them some money.
You could apply for a cheaper card, no idea if you are likely to get one because you haven't posted your financial situation.
It doesn't make sense to use the CC for day-to-day spending if you don't pay it off each month (when you would pay 0% interest). Until the balance is clear then use cash for this spending and pay off as much in lump sums as you can afford.
Finally - don't get so chippy when people make suggestions based on the info you provide. It is quite reasonable to suggest cutting non-essential spending (holidays) if you are worried about debt.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
