Broken vertical blind wand control

Hi there
I have broken my vertical blind control. The wand is ok, but where the wand 'hooks' into the headrail has snapped. I have to climb up onto a cupboard to turn it and it hurts my fingers!
I have googled but only see the wands and the full headrail for sale. All I really want is a new hook to put into the existing space iyswim. Is this possible?
Cheers.

I might well be wrong , but a couple of weeks ago my wand snapped at the hole. All I did was to drill a small hole further down the wand. This at first failed as the shaft fouled the hook when I attempted to turn it. I shaved off the edges of the wand , all was well.
Ps if I am wrong , perhaps a picture from you ??0 -
Hi, cheers for your reply.
I've taken a photo to show what I mean. The wand itself is ok, but I can't attach it to the rail, do I need a new rail?

This is the first time I've used photobucket, hope it works! Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:0 -
Much will depend on your improvisational DIY skills, but my approach would involve experimentation with various hooks, eyes, plastic washers and other parts from B&Q or my garage oddments box.
If you break the remaining plastic off, there may be a metal thread below that that something could be attached to....
If you could fashion a piece onto the end of the wand with a rectangular slot that fitted over the remaining broken piece ....
etc etc0 -
That what i did i used a net curtain hook and eye just screwed the eye into the plastic not great but it works0

I'm going to experiment and see what I can do.Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:0 -
This happened to me with a Marks and Spencers blind, I literally soured the "entire" internet, and this was the only place I could find to replace the broken part (which btw was the same as yours - broken hook)

The site is based in the US, but as it was the only place I could find it, I ordered, and it arrived pretty quickly, and was a perfect match.0 -
Have you tried contacting a blind manufacturer in your area? I had various bits broken on a blind we have and this company helped us out.

Try a top of a old ink pen a white one if you got one hanging around, put a hole in it so you can attach your blind wand and super glue it on to the blind bit on your photo wait for it to dry and then attach your wand, Happy Days
Don't put to much glue on it because the bit on the blind will not turn if you clue that  :rotfl:
Good luck0
