Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone had been to the British Moto GP and whether they thought it was worth the money.
I'm considering buying tickets for my boyfriends Christmas present and there currently reduced!!
Thanks

Is it still held at Silverstone?
I've been to Silverstone to watch Formula 1 which is probably quite a bit more expensive. I think, overall, due to the nature of such sports it is one of those things that is nice to experience live at the track but even with the best view at the track there's the potential to miss a lot of the action. Silverstone's website has information about the various stands and areas of the track that are visible (that is assuming it is still held at Silverstone).
If he's a fan he'll probably be very excited to go and see it live and if he doesn't go often/has never been before the novelty factor might well make it worth the money. I'm glad that I've seen Formula One in person and I may well do it again in the future but it isn't something I would want to do every year.0 -
Good vibes, this is the link for the tickets, there's about £20 of a ticket at the minute!!
He is a fan, F1 is a lot more expensive, one day I'd love to take him there!!0 -
If he's into motorbikes I would say go for it. I have been to the British Superbikes several times and love the whole atmosphere.0

I've been to assen and it was brilliant! I'm not a huge bike fan but you really get into the spirit of things. I'd love to go again, goes off to check out link.........:jMini Coops arrived 2011:j0

I went to one at Donnington about 7 years ago and it was a horrid horrid day. P*ssing with rain and attempting to push a buggy through a quagmire was one of the more memorable moments - along with absolutely nowhere to shelter and about a mile walk back through the mud to get to the car, over several footbridges (near impossible with a buggy). Don't really remember much about the motorbikes...0

I have not been since the children were born but used to go to WSB every year, have done a few Moto GP's as well. OH is bike mad and the first time I went thought it may be a bit boring but it was fantastic. We used to get weekend tickets and camp which just added to the whole thing (not for the lighthearted though as the "facilities" were poor to say the least). We have been lucky enough to have hospitality tickets a few times and these are fantastic. Your OH will certainly enjoy himself.0

I went to "that" Donington too - the toilets are something I will never forget in my whole life - disgusting isn't even close to describing them
I've been to Donington, Brands, Silverstone, Snetterton to see bike racing, and tbh I found Silverstone rather impersonal, the track and site are enormous and it doesn't seem that full, therefore I thought the atmosphere was less good than, say, Snetterton BSB which, when we went, was absolutely packed with people (and a warm day didn't hurt either). It depends really on what your other half likes, some people don't watch WSBK or BSB but are fans of MotoGP, I watch 'em all!
All I would say is if you've never seen live bike racing, go and see some, it's absolutely awesome!0
