Anyone know what this means on my boundaries?

Below is part of my title deeds paperwork from my solicitor however I am wondering what the marks are on the boundaries. The rear one looks like a T and the side ones look like S. I am assuming they are shared but wanting to check.

the t is yours and the s is shared (ours is noted as a t on each side)0

The 'T' means its your fence ie; your responsibilty for maintenance/replacement. . The 's' i'm not so sure about. Would be interested to know myself.Back on the trains again!0

Thanks, where can I find what shared means though? What I mean by that is what are my responsiblities etc. Just wanting to brush up on things as recently had a minor issue with next door. Was cutting the hedge and some of the leaves blew over to next door. He complained about it to me however if it is shared I am not sure what the hassle is. Just after all sorts of general information.0

Wind is probably seen as an act of god. I guess you have to speak with your neighbour, say you are about to cut the hedge, and there might be trimmings falling on his side, so offer to sweep them up. That is what my neighbour did when she trimmed a hedge on the boundary that is her responsibility. I said I didn't care, just go ahead and trim it properly, I'll tidy up any bits. Why get into a tizzy over such things?Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
Sorry to disagree with you but the T has nothing to do with fences but everything to do with maintenance of the boundary. A boundary does not have to be fenced. If you chose to fence it then thats your prerogative and it should be wholly on your land in that case.davenport151 wrote: »The 'T' means its your fence ie; your responsibilty for maintenance/replacement. . So no other thoughts on the S then, everyone agrees it means shared boundary. Does that mean the hedge is shared? Hedge is wide so in my garden and next doors. Thanks for the replies.0

Sorry. S is shared. Each of you will be responsible for your own side of the hedge.

Wasn't a case of disagreeing as such Keystone. I used the example of fences as its what applies to our boundary. Generalising a bit too much! Thanks for the correction.Back on the trains again!0
