I have booked half board as well as no availability for self catering. I did the same last time and rang to confirm I didn't want half board. They just removed it. Hopefully it will be the same again. £39 for Butlins Minehead 25th March (half term next year). YIPPPPEEE!

we have never been to Butlins as have been waiting to be dog free...

so this was my first time trying to book Butlins - so if you book half board you can ring and take it off? but if they say no i need to be prepared to pay the half baord do you know how much it is?

and if you take it off do you still get a room with self catering facilities? or just a room only?

i need to explore tips for booking butlins a bit more ready for the next round of booking!

I've only ever gone halfboard - with this option you only usually get the room only, which is basically that - room with small tv and seperate shower - no mini fridge, microwave nothing. Price is 8.95 per day for child & £13.50 per day for adult. Really wanted Butlins Bognor for either Xmas, Oct Half term or Feb halfterm, but know luck:( I'll still keep trying though.

On a side note....when you go halfboard they usually give you a silver room with no option to upgrade - however on my last visit (july this year) I was called an asked if I wanted to upgrade to a hotel for a very small amount - which I did and had an even better stay.:)

not sure i could cope with room only with no fridge.....no where to keep milk for DD (its all she drinks) or keep beer cold for DH or wine....i need to look at what the half board food options are - i am sure they would be fine but its what you do for keeping kids drinks and adults drinks cold??
