Radio mystery
Wonder if anyone can help. I was listening to my car radio with the engine off whilst waiting for my OH. When I saw him coming along I turned on the engine but when I did the radio went off and now the radio and cd player won't come on. Tried turning the engine on and off no joy. It shouldn't be my battery as had that replaced by the RAC about three months ago. Any ideas. Thanks in advance

check the radio fuse in the fuse box, your car manual or Haynes book might tell you which one is the radio fuse, sometimes they are linked to other items in the car like ciggarette lighter so if it is a dual use fuse and the other thing isn't working too then you can assume fuse

When you say 'it wont come on', do you mean the radio display is dead and theres no sound or do you mean the radiodisplay lights up but theres no sound? The former may well be the fuse.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. Located fuse box in car took out fuse for radio and put in spare but no joy. Will buy another fuse just to rule out that the spare is a dud. Nothing coming on no display only thing displaying is the time but didn't think that was connected to the radio. I was listening to it and as soon as I turned ignition key to start up engine it went off. Thanks for all your help it is appreciated not great with carsBest wins: Brit Awards & After Show Party Tickets 2012; Samsung Galaxy Note; 32" widescreen TV; £500 National Garden Vouchers; Kindle Fire HD; £100 high-street gift card; Kindle; Diamond Necklace; BAFTA TV Awards Tickets 2015; :beer:0

10a minifuse-open passenger door remove cover onside of dash.
does your eleky windows work by anychance? indicators, windscreen wipers?
there are 10A/15 fuses in the back of the radio themselfs too if its the one i'm thinking of, but renault had two radio types one had a 15 amp fuse in the back and the other has no fuse at all and depends on the 10a in the dash..0
