How much do you pay for cat insurance?

I have two cats, one is insured, the other one had the free petplan insurance which has expired so I am looking to renew, however, they are all quite a bit more than what I am paying for my 4 y/o cat.

Currently paying £4.23 p/m with Argos, but quotes I am getting are £6 p/m+ for a similar policy even with Argos. Have yet to call Argos and see what they can do as would rather buy online through TCB as some good deals on there!

Also don't want a policy with a huge excess either, think its £60 with argos.

What are others paying and who are you insured with?

I am insured with Axa. It's proper lifetime cover, with 7k per year per condiion. I pay £10.43 a month.

The cheaper insurances don't tend to offer proper lifetime cover so you do get what you pay for, and you have to decide what you want.

Edited to add: Excess is £50, can choose £25-100 (I think) which affects the price of the premium. This is my third year with them and annual rises have been around £1 per month.

Check out AXA: the cover is as good as PetPlan if not better, and cheaper to boot.

I have the platinum Argos insurance which is for life, and I'm sure I'm nearing the 20quid mark for 2 cats. One male whos about 3 and a female cat of 5. Females are cheaper the woman told me because males are more likely to get into scraps or go roaming (which mine wouldn't do as they can't go outdoors and all neutered)

My two bengals are with PetPlan - lifetime cover, 7k per year per condition. The boy is £12 per month and the girl is £11 per month.
