I am sure this has been asked before!!!!
Is it possible to do a perfect soft boiled egg?
I have tried my hubbys way, which is put egg in cold water, once boiled leave it 3 minutes. Nope, it was hard.
My way is put egg in boiling water simmer for 3 minutes then!! Nope.
So any ideas?0 -

I have to say that Delia is good for this.
Egg at room temperature - small saucepan - gentle simmer and not a rolling boil. Timings in the link - method one works for me, every time.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Thanks for replies, Think I will try the Egg-perfect0

If you put the egg in boiling water doesn't that make the egg crack ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
