Changing from BG to EDF

Changing to Edf energy????????
Good luck with that!
Don't expect to ever get through to them on the phone.
Do expect your Direct Debits to mysteriously increase..... then spend days trying to get it put right.
They are either a complete shambles (like their crap non functioning website) or intentionally dishonest. My personal opinion is that they are both.
As I type this I am on hold to them (yet again) trying to get my mother-in-law's consumption figures for use on the comparison sites.
Thank God I moved from Edf to OVO. Their tarrif is acceptable and they answer the phone quickly. I wouldn't go back to Edf even if their prices were half that of OVO as I don't trust them.0 -

Just bare in mind that its 21 days after the day your cooling off period ends. This is not the effective date for the switch though which must be earlier than the 21 days to allow the process to complete as many steps are sequential between parties.
Factor in:
- cooling off period
- 5 working days from this ending, presuming your supplier registers their application straight away. The 5 working days is the standard object window
- possibly a day or 2 of batch processing for data to be sent
Anything longer than that is not a guarantee.
Under their licence, 4-5 weeks would not represent your switch date, but the completion date. You have to make sure your switch date, not your completion date which impacts any early termination charges.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

Don't normally have a problem, did once have to wait 11 minutes but also been answered on the first ring!

I've never had the problem
They are either a complete shambles (like their crap non functioning website) My on-line account works perfectly
or intentionally dishonest. My personal opinion is that they are both.
As I type this I am on hold to them (yet again) trying to get my mother-in-law's consumption figures for use on the comparison sites.
I just logged into my account and all the details are there regarding past usage (daily and annually) and estimated future cost.

Seems you've had problems with them, thought I'd just post to give a balanced view.
Not sure why you have to phone them to get consumption details, do you not know how much was used in the past year?0 -
