I do not understand Credit Card Companies...

I've been hammering hard at my cc balances lately.
And, I think, I've been doing well with them.
I've managed to get one down to zero (Cap One 39.9%) with a combination of throwing any spare money at it, and a bt to John Lewis (2%).
My B/card (21.9), I've managed to get down from around 6K to just under 3.5K.
JL is now just under 3.5K as well.
And I've paid off a Black Horse Loan (£2400).
This has all been done in the last twelve months
Last week Cap One offered me a 0% BT at 3%. (Previous post https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4149317.
Today, B/Card up my 6.5k limit to 8.9K. This wasn't asked for, but they've done it anyway.
Bear in mind that all CRA's rate me as either very poor or fair...
The mind is aboggling

It could all be coincidence or they are have all noticed change on your file and hence expect a new offer may actually make them profit via bt etc0

They are "rewarding" your responsible behaviour.
If you can clear the balance while the rate is 0% then switch the Barclard Balance over.0 -

Hi,
I got some very good advice from JimmytheWhig during the week about clearing off the B/Card.
I banked my PPI refund cheque yesterday, so once that clears, a lump will be thrown to reduce the balances and a BT to Cap One at 0%
Getting there slowly but surely

Do the CC companies actually keep an eye on our files??Life is now good

Btw, I should have added that I applied for, and was refused, Sanander and Post Office CC's when I was looking for a BT.
Yet Cap One, JL and B/card upped my limits!!!
Maybe someday I'll understand how this game works...

It really isn't difficult.
The card companies that can see how you run your accounts now, to more detail than a CRA reports, like you. They will often base decisions on account performance not CRA reporting.
The ones that rely solely on the CRA feeds see the bad stuff and say no.0 -
