Looking for a siphon tool

evoke
Sometimes I need to remove water/fluids from vessels so i'm after a siphon tool that will help me do this. It just needs to be quite small as the volume of liquid that I need to removed is about 1 litre.
Where can I get such a tool from? Any recommendations?
Specifically, what I do once a year is remove the fluid in my central heating's Magnaclean and replace it with Fernox F1 superconcentrate. However, getting the small amount of fluid out is a real pain as I use an absorbent rag and it takes several minutes to clear enough water from the Magnaclean so that I can add the Fernox into it.

I know what you mean OP, you don't want any of that stuff down your throat!
There are loads of different ones you can get, have a look on Amazon or have you got a local homebrew shop?
I've used this one before and it's really fast

^ Thanks for that. Yes, I don't want to suck what's already there out with my mouth as it's already had Fernox in it which won't do me any good!Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0

what i fail to understand is why you are replacing your inhibitor every year ? If you don't have a leak or dilute the fernox by removing rads & adding fresh water it should last a life time, fernox used to say once inhibitor is added & providing it remains in the system at the correct dose it will last for 60 yrs.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

although if you are unsure what the concentration in the existing system is (which it sounds like you might be) I'd suggest doing a drain & flush and then adding the correct amount of inhibitor0

Sucking it up is still going to get vapours in your lungs, it really is a last resort technique unless it is clean water or orange juice.
If I have to to do it with a nasty fluid I will suck up with a longer pipe than is needed vertically, after each suck cover the end with my tongue, take a few good deep breaths to clear my lungs of any nasty fumes and keep going like this until a few inches from the top of the tube. Then crimp the tube shut within the liquid filled area. bend the pipe as you lower it so that the bit with the air gap is still pointing upwards, if you have a large collecting bowl, then release the crimp keeping the end pointing up the fluid will push it's way to the top of the pipe at which point you can then let the pipe go or direct the flow into whatever container you have.
Of course it doesn't help matters when the pipe is not clean to begin with...that's why most people hate doing it by this method.
I saw a syphon in a motor factors the other day....it was similar to this one
