car insurance claim, third party non fault

had a BOC delivery vehicle hit my car whilst parked in a hotel car park, i am 23 years old, have third party fire and theft car insurance, my insurance company are very unsupportive as vehicle not stolen! i have a fiat punto 1,2 active 2004 plate, offered 1435.00, feel an unfair offer to replace my car with a dealership when i was totally innocent, company not prepared to negotiate, any advice from people who are in similar position? first insurance claim problem

    You cannot expect any support from your own insurer - you took only third party cover, so they have no interest in this incident.

    You need to show the insurer evidence that their offer is unfair. (How did you value the car?)

    Get some ads for similar age/mileage cars. (Bear in mind that asking prices in ads aren't market value as vendors expect to have to accept "near offer".)

    Once you have found a replacement car contact your insurer before you buy it and confurm it is acceptable to them - if it isn't then you would have to cancel your policy and take out a new one, which will be an expensive exercise.

    Your right, they have over valued your fiat. should be £1k max
    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
