Is this a reasonable amount?
Hello,
First bill from nPower and wondering if this is reasonable. Have not been in this house long so no previous comparison possible. Old 3 bed detached house, gas central heating and cooker otherwise everything electric. Someone at home most days. For the last 4 months duel fuel, cost about £250.
Thought it was a bit high, but thinking c/h has been on here and there because its been so cold now and then. Does that seem reasonable?
Thanks.

I was with Npower, tho not big fans of their anymore because of what their trying to make me pay them since leaving. I was paying £84 per month for 3 bedroomed 1900 property, gas c/h and gas cooker same as you, tho just switched to EDF and now only pay £59 per month.0

4 months for about £250 does not sound bad
I have a 3 bed house and pay £92 per month duel fuel (£368 every 4 months)0 -
Yes, I agree its not too bad. 3 bed semi for us, 2 of us in all day and mine is just over £100 a month, so your doing well.
Do your meter readings once a month, remember the four months yu have been billed for are summer months so expect it to be more in winter.
My annual statement said I had used approx £1200 last year so its swings and roundabouts.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Look at what your usage in kWh is for each utility for the billed period, assuming they are for actual readings and not estimates.
That will give you a much better idea about what you are using and if there are any areas you could consider making savings in.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Thanks for the replies. Sorry but I misled a bit in my OP but mistake . This is not a bill, but based on readings and using the ukpower bill calculator tool which I've used before and seems accurate. Don't think it makes that much difference to replies though. I'm on a £100 month payment so hopefully should even itself out over the year without a big lumpsum to pay.
Good to hear it is roughly in the ballpark. Yes McKneff, I do do meter readings regularly to monitor usage over the whole year and agreed the winter is a whole different story, especially in an old draughty place like mine. I'm fairly careful about not leaving things on and unnecessary usage but will keep an eye on things.
Thanks again.0
