If I am in credit on an Egg card will I get charged to transfer my money into a bank account?
I called Egg about this and they told me that I won't get charged - but on MSE.com it says Egg charge 2.5% to shift positive credit onto a bank account.
I'm confused! Can anyone advise?

I normally send them a secure message asking them to credit it to my bank account that they have on file. They always do it free of charge. Did one this month aswell!0

Egg charge a 2.5% BT fee on the Egg Card during the introductory period and during any special promotion applying to your account. A special promotion is the anniversary offer in the anniversary month only and any other promotion they apply to your account from time to time (eg 3.9% for 6 months) - sometimes they tell you about it and sometimes they don't.
Egg's systems don't differentiate between a positive balance or a negative balance in applying the fee, although some people have reported getting the fee waived when transferring out a positive balance. You should be aware though, that on this product (as opposed to Egg Money) the creation of a significant positive balance may appear to be an unusual transaction.
For these reasons, it's always best to contact them first to ensure there's no special promotion on your account before using your Egg Card account in this way.0
