Spark Enegy - no service
Hello,
Spark energy have really messed up here.
I live in a rented flat with a pre paid meter which i have to top up through phoning the electricity company and paying via card.
On 16th july i realised i was running low on credit. so i rang up the company and made a top up of £40, the advisor said it would take up to 3 hours to go on.
2 days later there was no electric due to it not being applied. I then called the company again, and then they said they needed to see proof of my bank statement to be able to forward the payment through. so, i sent them proof of the bank statement, but in the meantime i had to top up so i just put £30 on to tie me over. (£30 top up worked) leaving them £40 in debt to me.
I then waited for a few weeks, today, and once again i was low on credit, so i phoned up to top up again, after finally getting through to them, i managed to get another £50 credit paid. but so far i have now got no electric, still waiting, have been on hold to the customer services most of the afternoon, so god only knows how much this 0845 number will cost me from my mobile (using mobile due to lack of electric for phone line).
So to summarize -
I paid £40 on 16th july
£50 today (31st aug)
made multiple phone calls to the customer services department.
now have no electric.
checked my bank statement, money has come out for both the $40 + £50 payments.
Where do i stand, im having to take all my freezer food to my parents place and store it there, i have no electricity, so no heating cooking facility and seemingly no way of getting hold of Spark to resolve this.
Thanks in advance for your advice

When you say you pay by card, do you mean a debit card?
When they put it through, they should be getting some sort of authorisation. So, why have you got to prove if when they could check themselves?
You need to raise a complaint.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
