I am getting an Antipollution fault notice coming on & the engine auto diagnosis light staying on.
Anyone got any ideas why this is happening & if there are any options to put it right?
Car is driving as normal, however, I did stall the car.

Get the fault codes read.
If it was something caused by the engine stalling you may clear it and thats the
end of the matter.
Otherwise the light will stay on or come back soon after.
Petrol/Diesel?
If its a petrol and overfuelling you could be killing the CAT.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Diesel?
Needs a fast run to make it regen? or has it done a lot of miles (60+k) and EOLYS fluid needs replenishing (and DPF replacement if Citroen do it)?0 -
It's petrol.
I stalled the car just after parking up. Didn't need to re-start the car until I was ready to use it to go home.0 -
Almost any cheap code reader will reset the light.
It may come straight back on depending on the fault.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I doubt it'd be driving as normal, it'd be in a reduced power state if there's a fault registered in the ECU.
But then if your not particularly car savvy and you drive about never noticing the little changes, those new noises, throttle hesitation, etc etc etc. Then I suggest getting those codes read ASAP, because there could be something very wrong indeed.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If its petrol it could be the crank sensor, strangely.0

VTS 1.6 16v engine is same as the pug engine, in petrol models anti pol is usually the suspect of the crank sensor.0

I read somewhere that disconnecting/reconnecting the battery might sort the problem out. However, will I need to programme the code in for the audio system & if so where will I find the code?
The audio system is the one fitted as standard.
I'm just running through possible simple diagnostics before booking it in at a garage.0 -
Disconnecting the battery may reset the light, But it may still be stored and you wont know why the light came on.
Windows, Radio etc maybe affected but so may the ECU it may run like a bag of bolts for 20 - 30 miles and not get full economy/performance back fpr a fair few miles after that.
Get the code read 1st and go from there.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
after bat discon you will need to run the vehicle for 30 mins in order for the ECU to relearn things such as weight and load into cournering (well it was in the 307 my dad had with cars fitted with brake load compensator/spring sensor on the car). econemy was crap for the first 15 mins and run like it was on 3 cylinders untill the ECU picked up.
its an easy and simple job to change over a crank sesnor, normally just requiring a 10 or 11mm socket and wrench, and some nimble fingers, and undoing 3 bolts, the crank sensor is located at the front right handside of the engine wedged between gearbox and engine and has a plastic appearance with a wire and plug attached0
