Hi, I am currently selling my house, the buyer has had his survey back and says the building society has put retention of 3,000 pounds
on his mortgage, the value was put at 82,000 when work done it would be 85,000.But my asking price is only 82,000 how can there be a retention on this.

Confusing!
Has the buyer applied for more than the offer you've accepted?!What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Thank you, didn't think of that. That would be the logical answer.0

It still doesn't make sense. I don't think you can do that? There appears to be some sort of confusion here. The buyer doesn't seem to know how much he's offered!
I'd speak to your solicitor about this. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
