Hi,

I was wondering if I could get some advice please.

I bought a pair of trackie bottoms from Sainsburys over 2 months ago. They've never been worn, hanger still on them, tags etc still on (I forgot about them). I tried them on yesterday and they don't fit well.

I know that without a receipt I may possibly get a credit note. However, I don't think sainsburys sell this particular colour/type any longer as it was over 2 months ago. So would I still be able to get a credit note, or would the fact they no longer sell them prevent this?

Thanks

As the item is not fault you have no statutory right to return them and so you are down simply to what Sainsburys own return policy is.

My guess, given their size and target market, would be that you'd get gift vouchers/ credit note to the last known value of them
  • I bought a boxed CD set which was encased in a cardboard sleeve without a security sticker from The British Heart Foundation Charity shop. it was a few days later when I went to play the CD's when I found that the box contained no CD's. I thought that the shop had removed them as there was no security sticker. I went back to the shop and was met with no receipt then no swap. The price & store ID marks were still on the outer box so clearly it came from that shop. They could not accept that it was sold in that state. It was similar to the "Dead Parrott" sketch in Monty Python were the shop keeper failed to see the original problem. The goods were taken from me & not returned. I did not expect this from a charity shop. It was only a small sum, but it was the attitude of the staff which annoyed me more.
