B Gas Price Guarantee Now Over

Get both gas and electricity through British Gas, paying by Direct Debit.

I protected my prices in April 2005 as follows

Gas Tier 1 2.673 p/kWh
Tier 2 1.863 p/kWh
Tier 3 1.809 p/kWh

Elec Tier 1 11.870 p/kWh
Tier 2 6.645 p/kWh

Price protection period expires today

Know whatever I do now I will cop a price hike but any advice on where to go from here ?

Thanks

Just reading a letter British Gas sent me last month I am now automatically moved onto "Price Guarantee 2008" as follows

    Elec

    T1 17.534
    T2 9.893

    Gas

    T1 4.618
    T2 2.352
    T3 2.352

Now looking at 50% increase in electric and 72% increase in T1 and 26% in T2 gas.

    Any advice ???

Find out how much there standard rate is? Protection products are always more pricey then the standard tariff.

BG Click Energy2 is their cheapest tariff.

In fact it is as cheap as almost everything available from any company, if not the cheapest.

Your best bet would be to register for click 2 asap as suggested above, then do a comparison to find out who the cheapest supplier is.

I'm not sure where Gal got her information from, but she's wrong :p , protection products aren't always more pricey then the standard tariff, although they aren't usually the cheapest either.
