The pilot light on our gas central heating boiler has gone out so there is no heating or hot water. I have tried turning the dial which reads 'on', 'off' and 'reset' to 'reset' but it doesn't make a difference.
The boiler is also making a clicking noise that it makes when its just about to switch itself on but then doesn't switch on. Can anyone offer any advice?
Its an old boiler - Ferroli - and am scared it's going to result in needing a whole new system!

Ask around for a local recommended RGI to have a look. A decent and honest one will probably fix it rather than just tell you you need a new one.0

Is there any chance you may be able to give us the model of the Ferroli boiler. Im not vindicating fixing it yourself but if you have the servicing manual it gives you a fault finding page that may give you a "heads up" on the fault then call a registered gas engineer out, try someone who has been recommended.0 -
I suppose the gas is actually turned on?
