Can JSA Disability premium be backdated to start of DLA claim if signed off?

Hey everyone, I've recently had a successful claim for DLA which has been backdated to January. At the time of the claim and appeal, I've been in receipt of JSA. I know that I'm entitled to the disability premium and Enhanced premium from January, surprisingly that's not been a problem speaking to the DWP.
The problem stems from the fact I'm starting college next week and as a result have to sign off. I've not got a problem with signing off but I've heard that if I do I forfeit any backdated payments owed, as it's not an active claim, is this true?
Currently the JSA department is awaiting evidence of the DLA award. This has taken 4 weeks (from award) and only after I informed them of my entitlement to DLA, which was meant to be automatic. I've been told that this will be sorted out next week but after my enrollment date.
If I have to be signed on to claim the back payments then my only options are to either get my enrollment date moved or sign off and forfeit money that I should have been receiving.
Sorry if it doesn't make sense, first post on these boards.

i dont see why they cant pay you any money owed after you have signed off, they should just issue a payment0

I would ring your BDC Monday, JSA have access to the DLA screens they can see that your DLA has been awarded and in payment.
You should have no problem all premiums will be backdated to the date that your DLA went into payment...
If the claim to JSA closes you will still be entitled to arrears of the premium.
Its easier from a processors point of view to pay the arrears when the claim is live as the system will pay them. If the claim goes dormant then they will have to be calculated and paid clerically, not hard but harder if you know what I mean.
So ring Monday tell them to check DLA through Common Enquiry
they can then confrim your new award0 -

Thank you, another question. When you say DLA 'went into payment' do you mean when the claim started (January) or when the DLA was awarded (August)? I've already received the backdated DLA from January.0 -
From Januaury, the date it was awarded.
You will get the DP and EDP from this date.....
They have no excuse, chase it Monday.
I know I would rather pay the arrears on the system then offline
