Hi all,
My Mum won her tribunal two weeks ago today and received a letter through the post today saying they have paid 900 pounds in to her bank account. Does this sound right?
We thought it would be more, her medical was in Sept last year and they said she had failed just before Christmas, she was then put on to the assessment rate while she appealed. She is in the work related group. Oh and she was transferring from IB to ESA, if this matters any.
So happy it's all over with (for now).

900 divided by let's say 8.5 months x4 weeks... 900/34.. about £26.50 per week. That does sound about right if she'd been eligible for WRAG during that period as WRAG rate is about this. However, I understand that there is transitional protection for income initially when transferring to ESA... that's something I can't really comment on except to say it does sound likely to be correct. If she gets award letter breaking down how much they're paying her weekly from now on then you can check and be sure... the £900 should equate to the amount they're paying her now per week minus assessment rate per week multiplied by number of weeks she has been on assessment rate. (Be aware obviously that benefits increased annually in amount in April)"Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0
